Surrounded by the sea, the Roseland peninsula has plenty of opportunities for you to enjoy the water - sailing, watersports, hiring a boat or exploring the network of ferry trips available. The unspoilt countryside is a paradise for walkers and gardeners will enjoy both small and large gardens open to visitors - Cornwall is well known for its early spring flowers and pretty hedgerows. The area is also well known for its art galleries and craft shops showcasing local talent in a myriad of ways, including paintings, pottery, jewellery and clothing.
There are many beautiful beaches on the Roseland for you to enjoy from small coves with rockpools, to sweeping swathes of sandy beach, perfect for sandcastles, swimming and exploring. Carne and Pendower are easy to access with a wide sandy beach, soft low cliffs and rockpools; Porthcurnick is more isolated reached via a footpath and zig zag steps, but well worth the effort; the two beaches at St Mawes - Tavern and Summers - are excellent for swimming and sunbathing.
